30 kilometers of beach
Texel’s west coast has more than 30 kilometers of sandy beach. You can walk for hours, try water sports, fly kites, go swimming, or relax at one of the many beach pavilions.
Texel is known for its beautiful nature, rich history, and delicious local products. The island is often called “the Netherlands in miniature” because it has beaches, forests, heathland, dunes, polders, and tidal flats all in one place.
The farmland is filled with genuine Texel sheep. The Texel breed, known as ‘Texelaar’, is used worldwide for its high-quality wool and meat. On the island, you can enjoy local sheep cheese, wool products like duvets, and the best lamb.
