Terschelling has a varied landscape with wide beaches, rolling dunes, forests and the only natural bay in the Netherlands. From the various viewpoints, enjoy panoramic views of the North Sea, the Wadden Sea and the green interior. Discover the most beautiful spots to admire the island from above.
Arjensduin is located in a beautiful dune area and offers a wide view over the dune lake of Hee, the surrounding dunes and campsites. Duck decoys were once located here, but in the ‘30s the area was partly afforested to prevent sand drift. Today, Arjensduin is overgrown with marram grass and is a beautiful vantage point for nature lovers.
What makes this place special?
Kaapsduin is Oosterend's lookout point, with 360-degree views over the village, the dunes, the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. The climb up is steep, but once at the top you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the eastern part of Terschelling.
Why visit?
The viewpoint Snijderspad is hidden in the woods and offers a surprising view over the treetops. From here you can look out over the woodland and towards the dunes and sea.

Seinpaalduin is one of the island's best-known vantage points. From here you have a great view of West Terschelling's harbour, the Green Beach and the Noordsvaarder. In clear weather, you can even see Vlieland. The dune is named after the signal pole that is still used to inform ships about wind forecasts.
What can you see here?
The Korea Forest was planted in 1951 during the Korean War and has kept its name ever since. At the highest point of this small forest area is a viewing dune with an oriëntation table, where you can determine your position on the island.

Dellewal is a special place on Terschelling. This is the only natural bay in the Netherlands and one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island. Fishing and trading ships used to seek shelter from storms here. Today, it is a place where you can enjoy the view of the Wadden Sea.

✔ Good walking shoes: Some paths are steep or loose sand.
