Oerol, or also pronounced 'Oëral' by the locals, is the high-profile and progressive theater festival on the Wadden Island of Terschelling! Oerol once began as a happening with street theater and music but after decades has grown into one of the largest theater events in Europe. For ten days, in the third week of June, Terschelling is the stage for theater makers, musicians and visual artists from the Netherlands and abroad. The special locations, often in the open air, give the performances a unique dimension.
